Did you know that the most popular pizza in Italian is the traditional Margherita pizza from Napoli? It’s purposely very simple to showcase the flavors of the fresh ingredients. Using a thick crust, the Margherita pizza is just tomato sauce, mozzarella and a hint of Parmigiano (Parmesan), extra virgin olive oil and salt. Sometimes fresh basil leaves are used.
So how did the Margherita pizza come to be? One well-known version of the history is that a Neapolitan pizzamaker named Raffaele Esposito created it to honor the Queen consort of Italy, Margherita of Savoy. The colors on the pizza (red tomatoes, white mozzarella and green basil) were meant to represent the national colors of Italy.
At 3 Sons Italian, we offer a traditional take on the Margherita pizza. We keep it simple with tomatoes, basil, fresh mozzarella cheese, extra virgin olive oil, salt and pepper. We offer these pizzas in 12”, 16” and 18”. We also offer gluten-free and dairy-free options; just ask your server for details!

We also offer 3 Little Pigs (with crispy pancetta, pepperoni and sausage), our White Pizza (with pulled chicken, alfredo sauce and spinach) and, of course, you can build your own pizza! Choose your sauce and then add any of the following toppings: pepperoni, sausage, green peppers, black olives, onions, spinach, basil, anchovies, garlic, jalapenos, pulled chicken, meatballs or mushrooms.
